Five armed suspects managed to escape with a number of electronic gadgets after robbing a vaccination team in Tshwane on Saturday.
The incident took place in a taxi in Soshanguve, located in northern Pretoria, around 9 a.m. on Saturday.
According to the Gauteng Health Department, the five men arrived at Wonder City Taxi Rank in a white Toyota Quantum, where they robbed the vaccination team at gunpoint.
The suspects fled with gadgets from the immunization program, including three tablets, a smartphone and six cell phones.
In a separate incident, a district health vehicle was hijacked in Kagiso last week on Monday.

During the incident, the hijackers fled with the vehicle, which was carrying mobile construction equipment and lookouts, to Chamdor, located on the West Rand.
Theft cases have since been opened for the two incidents at Soshanguve and Kagiso police stations.
No one was physically injured in either case.
The provincial health ministry, meanwhile, condemned the attack “in the strongest possible terms.”
âThese senseless acts occurred at a time when the province is ramping up the vaccination program by activating more vaccination sites in all districts to vaccinate as many people as possible.
âOur healthcare workers remain the backbone of the healthcare system, even during the pandemic, as they continue to play a central role in the roll-out of the immunization program. We call on all members of society to work with law enforcement and share any information they may have on the two incidents, âthe department said in a statement.
