Students are advised not to waste time on the phone | Patna News

Patna: The Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Patliputra University, RK Singh on Wednesday called on students not to waste their time on cellphones as it would bring them next to nothing. Rather, they should devote their time and energy to academic activities, sports and games to ensure the full development of their personality, he said.
Inaugurating the two-day sports festival organized by the AN College here, the VC said that sports activities are essential for the physical and mental development of young people. “Unfortunately, most students spend a considerable amount of time on their cell phones, which causes unwanted tension in their minds,” he said.
He appreciated that even in adverse circumstances, so many young people participate in varsity sports activities.
The principal of the college, SP Shahi, said that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, sports and various other extracurricular activities could not take place at the college for the past two years. “However, the students are playing sports with great enthusiasm and now these activities will hopefully be held on a regular basis,” he said.
Kala Nath Mishra, president of the college’s teachers’ association, spearheaded the program. A large number of teachers and college students attended the ceremony. Sports society chairman Ajay Kumar offered the vote of thanks.
