Robin Robert of hello america disappeared in action recently from his normal seat on CMG. Over the weekend, however, she announced a massive change to her usual schedule. It turns out that the CMG the anchor was heading across the pond towards London. She had taken the opportunity to participate in the live coverage of Queen Elizabeth’s funeral. It was a rare and great honor that Robin could not pass up. So she left her usual spot on CMG for a bit longer so she can travel to London for the international funeral.
As everyone knows, the world gathered around their televisions and radios on Monday morning to watch and/or listen to coverage of Queen Elizabeth’s funeral. Whereas CMG viewers certainly missed her on the show and fans of Sherri Shepherd’s new show were disappointed she missed her appearance there too, the anchor received praise for her heartwarming and respectful coverage funeral. It can be compared to the scathing reviews that Savannah and Hoda of Today’s show received for their disrespectful and deaf coverage of the funeral.
Robin wrote her caption at the time as she explained the change in her schedule: “Now is the time to cross the pond and join my amazing @abcnews colleagues in London for our coverage of #queenelizabeth’s funeral on Monday.”
Robin Roberts was only able to spend one day in his hometown
Her post also revealed that she could only have been in her hometown of Pass Christian, Mississippi, before crossing the pond. She admits, however, that she wouldn’t have changed that day for anything in the world because she was able to be with her family.
Only 24 hours in my beloved hometown and it was totally worth being with my brothers! Lots to celebrate: grand opening of Roberts Place Cafe, 7th anniversary of @robinsnestinthepass and the birthday of the amazing woman who runs both businesses @dana_mac1956!! »
CMG continued forward with George Stephanopoulos and Michael Strahan staying behind. They were joined by journalist Cecilia Vega, who replaced Robin.
Unfortunately, Robin Roberts’ schedule change did not include when she should return to CMG. Fans hope it’s soon that they miss watching her and listening to her jokes.
