Police suspect foul play as flames destroy Shiawassee County house

SHIAWASSEE COUNTY, MI – Police suspect the house fire on Saturday night in Shiawassee County was not an accident.

Soldiers responded to reports of a fire at 8:15 p.m. on October 10 in the 1500 block of South Riniel Road in Venice Township, about 20 minutes west of Flint, police said. of the State of Michigan in a press release.

Upon arrival, the soldiers found a two-story single-family home engulfed in flames, police said. The residence and a truck parked nearby were both destroyed, police said.

There was no occupant in the house at the time of the fire, police said. No further details were immediately available, although police acknowledged that the circumstances of the incident are “considered suspicious” at this time.

Lennon firefighters intervened on the spot.
