Illegal call center busted and 10 people arrested for deceiving foreign nationals, police say

Bidhannagar Cyber ​​Police on Tuesday dismantled an ‘illegally’ operating call center in Moni Casadona, Action Zone 2, under the jurisdiction of Rajarhat Police Station here and arrested ten people for allegedly deceiving foreign nationals.

Police said they seized electronic gadgets and incriminating documents from their possession.

“The call centre, illegally operating as ‘Reverent Infoserve Pvt Ltd’ at Moni Casadona, Action Zone 2, under the jurisdiction of Rajarhat Police Station, was deceiving foreign nations. Call center workers were calling people living in countries like Germany, the United States, Portugal and the Czech Republic, under the guise of providing them with technical support for brands like Microsoft, and asking them to perform payments through their website ( to remotely access their computers,” a senior police official said.

Police identified those arrested as Manish Routh (27) and Suraj Singh (28) from Ultadanga, Raj Jaiswal (19) from Amherst Street, Balbindar Singh Gill (26) from Belgharia, Arindam Shaw ( 28 years old) from Burtolla, Goutam Sarkar (47 years old). ) from Ghola, Raja Kurmi (27) from Madhyamgram, Stamik Sarkar (21) from Nimta, Amit Mondal (19) from Beliaghata and Shahil Ahmed (21) from Narkeldanga.

Police said the defendants were arrested under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for fraud, cheating and criminal conspiracy, and under relevant sections of the Indian Telegraph Act.
