Bixby 3.0 now better recognizes Indian names and other content to provide seamless access to daily tasks on the smartphone
Galaxy S21, Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 series among the first smartphones to benefit from the update
Samsung, India’s most trusted smartphone and consumer electronics brand, has announced the addition of Indian English as part of the Bixby 3.0 update. Since its launch in 2017, Bixby has grown from a smart voice assistant for users to an open and scalable AI platform that is available anytime, anywhere on mobile devices, wearable devices, and digital devices. To improve the user experience and make Bixby’s features more meaningful and contextual for Indian consumers, Samsung introduced support for Indian English as part of Bixby 3.0. The new version of Bixby aims to control the daily scenarios thanks to the new and improved English Indian English avatar.
Bixby can now understand Indian names, places, relationships, content, and recipes, among others. Bixby can also help users with several things throughout the day. For example, you can set the timer for your daily yoga routine, check the weather in Bengaluru, call Maa or Bhaiya on the way to work, sharpen your culinary skills with the chicken recipe Tikka masala, search Diwali photos on your smartphone and much more. Now all you have to do is ask Bixby! You can seamlessly connect your Galaxy smartphone to your TV using simple voice commands such as’Hi Bixby, show pictures of vacation in Bengaluru on the TV.

Bixby makes it easy to control and activate several settings and features of Galaxy smartphones, making it smoother and faster. For example, you can start slow motion video recording on your smartphone’s camera, activate power saving mode in case the battery is low, save the last received call as a contact, activate the hotspot. ‘mobile access or open the download folder, with just a voice command. Users can even ask Bixby to remember where their vehicle is parked for easy recall.
Bixby with Indian English support is currently available on the flagship Galaxy S21 series and the recently launched Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 smartphones. The Indian English version will be available on other devices soon, including Galaxy Fold, Galaxy S20 Series, and Galaxy Note20 Series.
