Afternoon Tour: Vehicle Parking and Directions

Mysore/Mysore: As Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in town for a two-day visit tomorrow (June 20) to take part in various events, the municipal police have identified parking spaces for two- and four-wheelers and for buses on June 20. Cops also issued guidelines for the public attending the event to follow at Maharaja’s College Grounds on June 20 and the Palace on June 21.

Parking for buses and lines

JK Grounds (for buses coming from Mandya side): Buses should travel on Mysuru-Bengaluru Road-Kempegowda Circle-Link Road Junction-TN Narasimhamurthy Circle (LIC Circle or Millennium Circle) – Abul Kalam Azad Circle (Highway Circle) – Subhas Chandra Bose Circle (Old RMC Circle) and Putta Gopalakrishna Shetty Circle to reach JK Grounds. (Parking for 233 buses).

Village Hostel Grounds (for buses from Hassan and Hunsur side): Buses should travel on Mysuru-Hunsur Road- Hootagalli Junction-Hinkal Junction-YNS Junction- Venkataramanaiah Road- turn right- Open Air Theater Road and Thippeswamy Circle to reach Village Land of the inn. (Parking for 41 buses).

Mysore University (for buses from Periyapatna side): Buses should travel on Mysuru-Hunsur Road-Hootagalli Junction-Hinkal Junction-YNS Junction-Chaduranga Junction and SJCE Road to reach Mysore University parking lot. (for 39 buses).

For buses from KR Nagar side: Buses should travel on Mysuru-Hunsur Road- Hootagalli Junction-Hinkal Junction- Venkataramanaiah Road- turn right- Open Air Theater Road and pass through Mysore University Senate Bhavan Gate to reach the University car park. (41 buses).

NSS Office Grounds and Somani B.Ed College Grounds (for buses from Nanjangud and Chamarajanagar): Buses should travel on Mysuru-Nanjangud Road-APJ Abdul Kalam Circle-turn left-go through Ring Road-KEB Junction-Bogadi Ring Road Junction – turn right – continue on Bogadi Road – Shankar Nag Circle – turn right – continue on Bisilu Temple Road and cross Sahukar Chennaiah Road to reach the NSS office and parking lot of Somani B.Ed College. (for 90 buses from Nanjangud side and 130 buses from Chamarajanagar side).

Mahabodhi Hostel Grounds (for buses from HD Kote): Buses should travel on Manandawadi Road-Srirampura Junction-take a left turn-continue on Ring Road-Bogadi Ring Road Junction-take a right turn-continue on VMD Junction to reach Mahabodhi Inn Ground. (Parking for 39 buses).

Scouts and Guides Grounds (for T. Narasipur buses and local buses): Buses should travel on T. Narasipur Road – pass through Ring Road-Kempegowda Circle, Link Road Junction-TN Narasimhamurthy Circle-Abul Kalam Circle- Subhas Chandra Bose Circle – Putta Gopalakrishna Shetty Circle-Dasappa Circle, Field Marshal KM Cariappa Circle (Metropole)-Hunsur Road, turn left near DC Office Arch Gate to reach Scouts and Guides Grounds. (for 72 TN Pur buses and 54 local buses).

At Yuvaraja’s College Ground, Maharaja’s Junior College Ground, Maharani’s College Ground, Ursu Boarding School Ground, Fire Brigade Ground, Mahabodhi Hostel Ground and Boy Scouts and Guides Ground.

Do’s and Don’ts for Public Attending Maharaja’s Grounds and Palace Events

The public should only enter through designated entry points. Must cooperate with security personnel when checking. Enter the premises through metal detectors in the door frames and go to the assigned locations.

Do not carry personal effects such as water bottles, bags, sharp instruments, etc. Brochures, banners, black sheets/flags, signs, whistles and percussion instruments are also prohibited.

Beedis, cigarettes, gutka, box of matches, lighters, crackers and other items totally prohibited.

The public can carry cell phones, but not other electronic gadgets such as cameras, video cameras, power banks, headphones, etc. Cell phones must be turned off before entering the premises.

After reaching the designated places, the public should not move from block to block. Must not stand, shout or move around unnecessarily and disturb others.

Park vehicles only in designated places identified by traffic police. Must not stand in groups on VVIP routes and must not move on the convoy route.
