Gary Shapiro, President and CEO of the Consumer Technology Association (formerly Consumer Electronics Association)was honored in 1999 by the National Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America’s Best Tech Scout Award.

Shapiro leads the trade group which represents more than 2,200 consumer technology companies, organizes the annual CES event and promotes innovation to policy makers.

He served over three decades with the association and previously served on the George Mason University Board of Visitors.
